Who Are We?

Drimnagh is an area of over 5,000 houses, with a population of more than 12,000 people (Census figures 2011).

To cover such a large area, there are two residents associations:

The Drimnagh Residents Association (DRA) provides for the Drimnagh area from Drimnagh Castle to Sperrin Road.

The Drimnagh Residents Community Group (DRCG) covers from Sperrin Road to Parnell Road.

The DRA has been in existence since 1936; it began primarily as a support to assist homeowners with house repairs but has since grown to become a lobby group to provide a voice for Drimnagh. It covers the area of Drimnagh that was built in the first half of the 20th Century.

The DRCG was formed in 2008 to provide a voice for the residents of East Drimnagh and effectively replaces a much older organisation “Drimnagh Tenants Association” which had ceased to operate in the mid 1980’s

Together we are continuously striving to bring about lasting improvements for our area.

Theoretically the two resident’s group use Sperrin Rd as an imaginary membership line, but this is not cut in stone, and with the continuous redrawing of the local government boundaries it is ever more important to show unity in our approach to issues that can affect our area.

We are constantly seeking people residing in the area who could possibly give some free time to becoming involved in your community. So if there is anybody interested please contact us at drimred@yahoo.com, info@drimnaghcommunity.com, or on Facebook, Drimnagh Residents Associaton
