THE DAVITT ROAD SITE (Old Lyons Tea Site on Davitt Road)
The Contractors for the New Childrens’ Hospital, BAM Contractors, will begin their move onto the Davitt Road site on Feb 5th 2018.They will be using about 1/3 of the site and will continue to use the current entrance on Davitt Road.
Our main concern in Drimnagh is the effect on Traffic and we are monitoring the situation, through meetings etc. on an on-going basis. We have already had a number of meetings.
Initially they will be securing the site with hoarding etc and will then gradually begin to use the site. It will effectively be a Builder’s Yard used mainly for storage of materials etc and will continue to be used in this way for approximately 5 years.Nothing permanent will be built there until the New Hospital is completed.
Deliveries of materials by trucks to the site will, more than likely, come from Naas Rd turning right onto Davitt Road and then turning right into the site.
Truck traffic between the New Hospital Building site (St. James’ Hospital) and the Davitt Rd site will be via the Rialto gate of the Hospital, along the Sth Circular Rd turning left onto Suir Rd,, then across the Canal bridge turning right onto Davitt and then making a left turn into Davitt rd Site itself. This could have the effect of driving traffic up through Drimnagh.
We will keep you informed as time moves on and we will continue to meet with the Builders Reps, and Hospital Authorities.
We will be keeping you informed.
