Drimnagh Celebrities

Drimnagh was and still is a community with abundance of talent in areas as varied as sport, music and the arts.  From Drimnagh went many who were to achieve fame in their chosen sport at international level.  We have Eamonn Coughlan (World Gold Medal), Eamonn Kinsella (Olympic hurdler 1956), soccer internationals such as Tony Dunne (Manchester United), Eric Barber (BirminghamCity), Drimnagh Castle past pupils Kevin Moran and Niall Quinn, Brian Kerr our former Irish International Football team manager, to mention just a few.  And of course from the Drimnagh Boxing Club we have our very own Olympic Gold medallist Michael Carruth!

The Drama section of the Bosco was where such notables as Johnny Murphy (the Abbey Actor) and Patrick Bergin of Hollywood fame first got a taste for acting. And of course there was Sonny Knowles, Patricia Cahill and Helen Jordan.
